Just What The Doctor Ordered
My doctor recommended this book so I felt compelled to read it. I love no BS books that give you just what you need and leave all the extra fluff for the birds. The Brain That Changes everything does exactly that!

Not changing my mind about changing my brain
I was recently diagnosed with ADD and ADHD. I have tried everything to improve my attention and focus but it has been very difficult for me to wade through all the information out there. My psychologist recommended this book so I ordered it and found that it really did

Maybe worth reading, with caveats
It is certainly not neuroscience but it is a useful “hands on’” guide to how to improve your brain.

Brain Boosters!
Great section on the latest brain boosters. Also, love the low carb suggestions. Not sure how well the plan works long term, but I will continue to stay on the plan as long as it is working for me.

Yum Yum! Brain Candy
As a student of brain science this book was absolutely brain candy. I read it in just 2 hours and didn’t rest until it was done.
I originally read Norman Doige’s “The Brain The Changes Itself” last year but really felt that I needed more practical information and exercises that I could do to improve my brain. Also I wanted some supplement suggestions and nutrition suggestions.

Great Section On Brain Supplements
There are very few books out there with up to date information on which supplements to take and how to take them. This book discusses several of the most essential supplements along with a brief discourse on physical, mental and emotional techniques for accelerating your brain power.

Informative and easy to read, Very solid information and written well. I wish there was some more details in certain areas but the author’s website provides the missing info.

Disappointed, Adderall and Other Drugs Not There
I was very excited reading this book, I learned many new things from it. But I was really disappointed at the fact that the author completely missed to mention in the conversation at all about Adderall, Provigil and many other pharmaceutical drugs that many people like me find useful. The book is well written and is easy to read but I am sorry I cannot have a better recommendation for it since it misses such an essential part of my therapy which is brain drugs.

After leaving my keys in that “very special place” for the last time, I got this book to improve my memory. I basically needed a simple and brief guide that outlined the right things to eat, the right physical exercises, and some basic supplement suggestions. I definitely got more than what I paid for here. Also, I enjoyed the writer’s conversational tone. It made me feel like I was in a conversation with a friend.

A fun read, full of information and free from unnecessary details.
Pros: Easy to read. Just the essential facts. Fast ( I read it in 1 hour).
Cons: Could definitely use a bit more beefing up in certain areas. Some of the tips are more the author’s personal suggestions rather than scientifically based routines.

Buy now, I am sure everyone has heard about neuroplasticity. There are a ton of books out there written for neuroscientists. This is not one of them. This is one of a few new books on the topic written for the average man and woman who doesn’t need the scientific mumbo jumbo but rather a plain and simple down to earth explanation of how they can improve their brains.
My main take away was that no matter how old you are you can still change your brain.
