This short story reminded me of Shinich Hoshi, a Japanese short sci-fi story writer. Like Hoshi’s innumerable short short stories Light Years Away has a taste of wit and satire, and makes you think about the world where we are living now.

Dave’s short stories always give you clear images and certain obscurity at the same time. The obscurity allows your imagination to slip into his well-structured small world. Your imagination, in turn, together with his somewhat simple fictional arrangement, creates a memorable impression in yourself.

But do not take it too seriously. His stories are best fit for fun reading. Just try his other ones.
