Short description
Titanic war-machines, humanoid robots known as "Killbots", have all but annihilated the human race. There are but a few bands of Survivors, humans who have managed to evade the apocalypse by sheer grit and determination, caught in a future with harsh consequences and where the best choices might be veiled by circumstance and emotion. Past the end of the world, moral ideals only get in the way.
Human civilization is on the brink of annihilation. The world is a wasteland and the entire planet's population has been decimated. The cause? Liberators, colossal war-machines designed and built to protect the best interests of mankind, have decided that in order to protect their understanding of "mankind", certain other men must first be eliminated. Unfortunately, the Liberators -- known more commonly as "Killbots" -- have no way of differentiating between good and bad, and in their cold, calculating programming, alignment is irrelevant. Only annhilation matters.
Bands of Survivors remain, striving to exist in a world ravaged by careless mechanical titans. One group, a colony known as Refuge, has prospered out of nearly nothing, existing in their self-constructed fortress in the wide, barren plains of the former North American Prairies. They have survived long past The Collapse due to a combination of determination, grit, and firepower.

To them one day comes a Killbot, but it is no calculating metal fury bent solely on destruction. This Killbot has a human companion and a name, and is as obediant and calm as his nihilistic brethren are reckless and destructive. The Survivors of Refuge are wary, unable to accept that one of their most hated enemies has turned back to their side of the fight, but they allow the Killbot's human companion, a man by the name of Jebediah, to enter their community.
A story of the world's end and human-killing robots where decisions have harsh consequences and where the best choice might be veiled by circumstance and emotion. Past the end of the world, moral ideals only get in the way.
