In just 12 pages, the author had successfully put together a haunting and moving tale of love and loss. This is a retelling of "The Little Mermaid", and appropriately, the prose has a fairytale quality to it. A nice sampling of the author's writing.

The characters in this story feel authentic, and the story is well-written overall. A good read.

This short story would make a good foundation for an excellent novel.

This was a short but sweetly written tale. Alannah and Orlando could have been a great couple and the reader will enjoy them but for those emotional readers (like me) bring tissues. Loved it.
