Desolate

Rated 4.00/5 based on 1 reviews
Maia has an idea her life is a long, lonely road. She has no idea how long and lonely until she hits a 100 mile stretch of desolate Maine highway...and then strange things start happening. Alone on a dark deserted highway, a person's mind can get lost, sometimes even invaded. Dead people don't say dead. *Not a zombie story. *Some strong language. More

About Laura Payeur

Laura Payeur lives in Rhode Island, you know, that tiny little New England state on the East Coast, with her husband and two of her four children. She also has one grandson and two cats. She is an avid horror fan, who also enjoys a good murder mystery and a bit of dark humor. Her love for books and writing came at an early age thanks to her mother Sandra, who Laura can never remember being without a book. Starting a family young, they became her priority. As time passed and her children grew, she found herself with much appreciated time to write. Albeit, sometimes only in the middle of the night. She has yet to give up hope that someday she will write one successful novel or even, possibly, a moderately successful collection of short stories.

Review by: J. Adams on Feb. 21, 2012 :
Laura Payeur can create mood like nobody else. I like her writing.
Four stars for another excellent story that should be in The New Yorker.
