One of the most entertaining and skillfully told fantasy romances I've read in a long time. Ertemis is a fabulous hero; a heady combination of ruthlessness and compassion, humor and sensuality. His background and his outlook on life charms the reader as surely as he charms Jessalyne, the heroine.
One of the things I found most striking about this tale is Painter's skill at world building. This universe comes alive via lush description and an economy of powerfully visual words. I hope to see more fantasy romance from this author in the near future.

Kristen Painter's lush voice pulls you into her fantasy world from the very first page of HEART OF FIRE. The chemistry between the characters captivate you and leave you longing for more. Loved it!
