This is the story about a Native American warrior called Woman War Chief, a female born in 1800 who became a chief with the River Crow tribe. She lived in the region that became Wyoming and Montana. Born to the Atsina tribe, the young girl was abducted by a small band of Crow hunters, who adopted her. The Crow named her Pine Leaf, and then later called her Woman Chief. More

About Jerry A Matney

Jerry A Matney was born in Wise County, Texas, where he was a four-sport athlete. He attended Decatur Baptist College on a football scholarship. After serving in the Marine Corps, Jerry attended Santa Ana College, Long Beach State University and Chapman University.

Jerry served for 34 years as a teacher and school administrator for the Orange County Juvenile Court Schools. He served on the Fountain Valley School Board and as Mayor of Huntington Beach, California. He and his wife Nedra retired to Surprise, Arizona where he continues to write historical novels.
