I'm not quite sure how I should rate a collection; do I rate it according to what I'd think the average should be (about four stars), or according to how I'd rate my favourites in the set?
There are a handful of tales here that I'd happily award five stars to (no surprise to me that my favourites mostly like within 'Quirky'), and others that feel more like prologues to a longer story, or segments that belong within another, larger tale rather than alone. In the end, I'm rating it five stars simply because I think that with the collection ranging as widely as it does in subject and style, there's a good chance of many readers finding something they enjoy here. I certainly did.
