About Brian Smith

Brian Smith is a retired Architect who trained at the Architectural Association in London. His first contact with the South Pacific was in 1976, when he was employed for six years jointly by the then Overseas Development Administration and the Government of Fiji. He then worked for seven years in Papua New Guinea. He travelled extensively in the region visiting Tonga, Samoa, New Caledonia, the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, Australia and New Zealand.He was married to his immensely supportive wife, Dee, for 39 years. Sadly, she died of breast cancer in 2003. He has a daughter, Sarah and son, Neil.
