No matter where he tries to hide.

“The Whited Child.” Men feared wolves. They feared disease; they feared the unknown, and they feared the White Mountains. So when the white comes down off the mountains and grips one of them, even a child, they cast the child out. Now, they will fear Bad Pete.

Novella: “Citadel Ninety-Nine.” The Captain told his favored captives -- the skinny runt Molyk, and the princess Elg -- as well as fat and dim Felix, that the prophecies and rumors were nonsense. The legion had conquered, sacked, and destroyed ninety-eight great walled cities, and had never suffered a single setback. No force in the lower world could oppose the Commander’s Legion. The Commander possessed the power to ensure any victory. The Commander was a god. So what was one city more? A dark epic of doomed heroes and world-shattering battles, internal and external.
