Short description

A world where magic reigns finds itself at war with a universe dominated by science. This conflict won't be won by the humans alone. Valinthia holds more to its mysteries than a functioning magic. Changelings and their love for chaos sign up. Pixies and gnomes learn to get along! Sleeping dragons stir during their rejuvenating slumber. Battle lines are drawn as the conflict begins!

Extended description

A newly discovered lush green planet circling a blue star comes off the quarantine list. With stone castles and no signs of advanced industry, they become a prime target for their abundant natural resources.

Galactopolis, the hub of all interstellar commerce and government, auctions Valinthia to a Profit Manager with an agenda for conquest and galactic credits. His new mercenary fleet pounces with sophisticated ion weaponry to subjugate the savages for slave labor. Finding out the hard way that the inhabitants weren't the pushovers they expected, the coming battles would be a struggle the universe would never forget!

Will the Defenders of Valinthia fail in the goal to bring a halt to the attacking waves of space commandos, or will the Profit Manager and Invasion Leader go laughing all the way to the bank over billions of dead bodies?

Love this book and the sequel. Great characters, humour and a great story. Absolute fantasy, but totally enjoyable

I have read all of Daniel Robert's books and this one by far is his best work. I was overwhelmed with surprise and amazement at how good it was! Had me laughing and shouting exciting comments out loud as I read it straight thru in one sitting.

This book, the first of I hope another trilogy is another favorite for me.
This story has a different setting than 'the passion of', but to this is an adventure.
The story-setting has a wide base with a lot of characters, with strange beings to our world, but feeling natural on it's place on Valinthia.
but not crowding they all have 'room' in the story,as they all have their own specialism, making all characters count.

It's a story with lots of humor, (I could tell you a lot about this, but that would be a spoiler)
exiting moments and surprises along the way.
At the end of the book life goes on, as usual.
Some in this book started story-lines will hopefully continue in the next book(s).
You 'see' the characters grow, learning 'new ways', doing things they never did before.
Some like what they see, some don't, but that's mostly the case in reality.

A must have, perfectly to get your mind of things.
With a warning: Once you start reading this, you can't put it down easily. :)
