Short description

Alba goes from Paris to Canada to save a small boy from his mother's indifference, and to escape from her own father's plans for her. From Canada on to more adventures in the United States.

Extended description

In telling these stories about people and places in North America I would like to pay tribute to all the fascinating, welcoming, caring and loving people, who made my three years in North America an experience for life.

At the same time, it was a plunge from post-war Europe into the materially advanced Canada and USA, who had not experienced war or occupation on their own soil. However, I also met men and women, who were marked with experiences of combat - or imprisonment - in Italy, France, Germany and – probably the worst – in Asia, and in many cases children, parents or spouses living with the loss of their loved ones, not only in World War II, but also for Americans the Korean War.
