Mia is a multi-talented author and artist who just returned to the United States after spending the past six years writing and painting in the 16th-century village of Ajijic in Central Mexico.
Mia’s father was a decorated World War II veteran who survived 18 months in a German prison camp before returning home as a man emotionally and physically crippled by his experience. Her mother was a kind, black-haired beauty who taught Mia the true meaning of unconditional love.
Mia’s childhood exposed her to the bitter reality of poverty, alcoholism and violence, but it also led her to explore the limits of her creativity. As a young adult she enjoyed successful careers in dance, art, and writing, traveling often to further her studies in the arts, philosophy, and other cultures.
In the year 2000, Mia's older brother committed suicide, followed by the deaths of both parents. She spent four years recovering from the grief of her losses, and documenting her discoveries about the powerful secret relationship that exists between creativity and happiness. Her illuminating book on the subject, “The Secrets of the 100 Golden Keys," is a guidebook to creating a fresh, authentic and exciting new way of living and being - one that is free from the belief-traps and limitations of the past.
Mia is also the author of the fiction thriller novel, "Conspiracy of Fear: The Killerman Chronicles."
Today Mia is living in Portland, Oregon with her grown daughter, where she continues her painting and writing, and authors the humorous DIY blog, The Art of Doing You. To discover more, go to MiaPratt.com.
