When the Sorceress crashes the Christening of Princess Mareille, the Queen's treachery is discovered. The King has her beheaded, her body thrown on a pyre of burning spindles.

The King tries to hide the Princess in the deepest part of the castle, but we all know how it goes... Sleeping Beauty Marielle is spirited away to the Sorceress's grim forest tower and kept there for 100 years. All the while Sorceress uses the situation to her advantage.
