Clarkson gives everyone the opportunity to see through her eyes as a military wife when her world turns upside down when her husband is away overseas and she struggles with family issues and being the mother of a young one. Although not every deployment is as difficult as this one was for her, it allows others in the community to see first-hand what some fellow military wives go through on a regular basis. I can't imagine the courage it took to bare your soul to the world but we're all better for having read your words. As another reviewer commented, her commentary is very raw and honest, but it means so much as a fellow military wife to see that someone else struggled with similar circumstances, although not nearly as serious as these, and that we are not alone. I hope that those who are not familiar with the military will read your words and be inspired to reach out to military families or those struggling with a family member's disability and give a much needed helping hand. Thank you for sharing such a difficult experience with us....we're all better for having read this!

Wow. This is a wonderfully written, completely raw piece. The author does an exceptional job of painting a picture of the incredibly difficult journey she has been on. Cheers to her for “Standing Naked!” A real tale of overcoming some of life’s most dreaded circumstances…all at once.

Just when you think you have problems, you read "Standing Naked" and wonder how Kimberly made it through the day! Every soldier's spouse, anyone who has ever lost a parent and any sibling of a person living with a disability should and must read this book!!

This is a candid story of one woman's walk with outrageous family issues added to the difficulty that can be encountered with medical institutions and financial worry. It took a lot of guts for the author to put her story out there for all to see and absorb. Congratulations on your candor and honesty!

Standing Naked is one of those books that once you start, you keep at it until you're finished! The story is fascinating mainly because it appears to be true! Why read fiction when you can read about real life craziness? I liked the author's honest style. This story made me wonder about all of the people I went to high school with....what were their lives really like? It made me wonder about medicine and hospitals. It made me wonder about parenting. Thanks Kimberly for letting all of us get a glimpse of what your life had really been like!
