Mia Blancharde is quickly endearing as a strong minded, independent woman who digs up artifacts for her father's store. She lives in Freedale, a futuristic city where electronic items barely work or are comically falling part. The Swing Zone is a forest between Freedale and a rural group of ecology minded farmers they call the purists. Her encounter with one of them sets up this first issue very well. I enjoyed it start to finish. Looking forward to reading the next.
