Disgusted with the visual image and description of the slurried meat added to his cheeseburger, he sets on an assignment to investigate just how bad or good this stuff is. But is it that simple? Starting with the confronting of his local supermarket general manager, an attractive and challenging woman, he starts to understand both sides of the issue. What he finds is a government-sanctioned, multi-billion dollar meat process, it’s industry operating under arcane labeling regulations and technical loopholes. As Digger works his way up the food chain, he starts to focus on the real problem – government paternalism. But there are those who don’t want the whole story told. This is a story straight out of the headlines and introduces an antagonistic Muckraker whose mission it is to dig up the truth.Tags
