Arguments and outbursts are disruptive, uncomfortable and rob the workplace of valuable time. The silver lining is that anger shows passion. Remember that people get angry or frustrated when they care about something. The need is to redirect this passion by eliminating as many barriers as you can. Imagine if all time spent on conflict and conflict resolution was spent in a more productive manner. Imagine that ideas and solutions could be brought forward by all the employees instead of just the ones willing to fight to be heard. It can happen. Many workplaces are very successful at creating a truly open-door workplace. Unfortunately there is more than just your immediate workforce to deal with. Customers, vendors and many more of your day-to-day contacts are not under your umbrella but you have to deal with them as part of the business. Without direct influence you..
