About Tony Thorne MBE

I am an Englishman, born and technically educated in London, England, and now living in Austria; but in the winter, in the warmer Canary Island of Tenerife. I originally qualified as a Chartered Design Engineer and subsequently created a well-known British company (now American owned) specialising in Applied Physics products.

For developments in the field of low temperature (cryo)surgery instruments, and very high temperature (carbon fibre) processing furnaces, the Queen awarded me an MBE.
Earlier in life I also wrote and sold science-fiction and humorous stories, was an active SF Fan, and a spare time lecturer for the British Interplanetary Society.

After many interesting occupational adventures, including the development of AI computer software for business applications, and animated computer graphics set to music, I am now a writer of quirky speculative fiction; mostly tall Science Fiction and Macabre tales, with over 100 short stories published in various collections. My first novel,Points of View, was published in 2012 by Eternal Press, Santa Rosa, CA, and I have just completed my second SF novel, "POINTS OF VIEW - The Weapons" ... The trilogy is for general readers, but especially young adults ..!

This is a wonderful collection of stories about robots. As I love science fiction and how evolved robots have become, it still amazes me. I love robots and the sense of personality that often comes across is compelling. They have become a part of our everyday lives and it is so intriguing to wonder, what if they really became too intelligent. The human touch will always prevail, wont it? This book was really fun to read and I enjoyed it very much. The realism of these stories is great and sent me right into each one. Each story held me and was unique and different. Each one as engaging as the others and kept my attention and left me wanting more. The characters make each tale fun and fit the story perfectly. The details are wonderful. They are so clear and vivid and made it al the more intense. Well written and easy to stay with. I love books of this genre and this is one of my new favorites. It is a great addition for my library. I have read several books by Tony Thorne and have never been disappointed. He has a wide imagination and a knack for sharing it in perfect words. If you love books about robots and mechanic life forms this is the one for you. I certainly recommend this book to everyone
