About Anna Piela

I have recently published my first printed book, Muslim Women Online: Faith and Identity in Virtual World. This monograph is based on my PhD research; using feminist methodologies, I have analysed new interpretations of Islamic texts carried out by Muslim women in online discussion groups. The book was published this year by Routledge and can be purchased at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Muslim-Women-Online-Identity-Virtual/dp/0415596971/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320844349&sr=8-1 .

My new book project is an edited collection titled Muslim Women's Digital Geographies (http://www.muslimwomensdigitalgeographies.blogspot.com/) which brings together academics from across the world whose research is located at the intersection of gender, digital technologies and Islam. This book will be published in the Brill series Women and Gender: The Middle East and the Islamic World.
