Granted, this isn't exactly the book you would turn to for meal ideas, and the "food photography" is just public domain photos from across the internet, but gosh darnit this book has heart. And liver. And probably feet.
The Complete, Abridged Recipes of Shakespeare is an exercise in absurdity, a literary "What if" of culinary history. As in, what if William Shakespeare were the world renowned chef owner of the Globe Theatre and Restaurant and his legacy to the world was his collection of plays, sonnets and most importantly, recipes? The result is a silly diversion perfect for light reading during bathroom breaks or while watching the commercials of cooking shows.
