This is a great short story to include in your Gardella Vampire Chronicles library. It fills in those little incidences that may be deducted due to editing. And if your a fan like myself, you want ALL those incidences included!!

Nice introduction to a series have long wanted to read! While at times found myself smiling a little in inappropriate places overall would have to say that Victoria Gardella is a thoroughly fun character to follow and now am going to work harder on getting the 5 full length books to read very soon!

I like the short story as an introduction and am tempted to find the full-length version. The style (the flow of the words) remind me a lot of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, which was a good, humorous read. It's a little campy but so was Buffy the Vampire Slayer, that's what makes it fun. Gleason is talented at taking us to that time and place and making us care whether or not Victoria has another run in with Max. I, for one, hope she does. Phillip would most likely bore her insufferably. Guess I will need to buy the others to find out.

Suspense, early courtship, suggestion of a love triangle, and vampire hunting all in one short story!
If you haven't read the Gardella Vampire Chronicles it's a great introduction to what you have to look forward to in the series. If you have read them, then this is a great reminder of how it all got started.
For me, this story was a reminder of why I love Colleen Gleason as an author.
