About Dashaun Charmin

My name is Da’ Shaun Charmin. I’m 18 years old, a senior in high school and an aspiring author. I was born in Houston, Texas and I have six other siblings’ three brothers and three sisters. I am the third oldest after two girls. I've never really know my biological father and i don't really care to. Because of him I am a firm believer in Independence. My favorite color is green and my favorite thing to do other than write is sing. I’ve been doing both since I was a kid. It’s hard to say which I favor the most but, it has always been a dream of mine to become an author. I thought “I’ve got a story that I think people would enjoy reading,” so here I am. I was always the best student in my English class. I was the girl telling stories to my friends when we were bored. In October of 2010 I figured it was time to put one down on paper. My first novel is titled Run Away With Me and it took me four months to write. It’s the first in a four-part series. Before Run Away With Me, I wrote a short story called You, Me and Costa Rica. It was one of my first short story pieces along with Trouble Again. When I was in the sixth grade I tried writing a scary story about a shape shifting monster who was in love with a student at the school she worked at but the story didn’t work out. I have three best friends, Genevia, Avery and Trent and they mean the world to me. We’ve had our ups and downs as with any relationship but I would want nothing more. My inspiration has many faces. Music is my therapy, writing is my medication and my friends are my foundation. I just want people to love my work as much as I do. If I can get half as many people to enjoy my writing as they do my singing I think I would be content. I thought up a quote that I hope to be famous one day. And this is what I am going to live by. “Don’t wait for the inevitable to happen, take action and change the outcome.”
