From Sylvie Nickels: As The Crow Dies is a fast-moving yarn with interesting settings, mainly Hong Kong and Beijing. I have to say that, as an oldie, this would not be my normal choice But I can well imagine that anyone with a taste for a quickly paced story in which I imagine everyone talking out of the corners of their mouths and competing for the most memorable one-liner (shades of Raymond Chandler?) would be well-served, especially if they can cope with some rather unpleasant ways of extracting information from people. There is quite a lot about IT and about characters switching loyalties at a dizzying speed. Once you start, I’ll wager you will need to know what happens.
