She wants nothing more than to follow in the footsteps of her father and brother and become a member of the Keepers of Divine Order. When her initiation into the Keepers leads her to Miami and pits her against the wereleopard Sekhmet, Laila is cast into a sea of clan intrigue and bitter rivalries. The stakes grow ever higher once the rival pack of werehyenas, led by the beautiful and bloodthirsty Samara, decides to lay claim to the wereleopard’s territory. With the arrival of Kess, the true wereleopard clan leader, and her retinue of werewolves, violence threatens to erupt. Will Laila’s training and skills be enough to save the young werejackal and everything she’s worked for?

At first, I was disappointed that this story switched to a new character as the main character, but I found Laila to be quite interesting and different. I did like how it continued the story of the first book, with the same characters, though I missed seeing things through Kess` eyes, and seeing her relationship with Cormac grow. I kinda fell in love with Finn in this book, who was absolutely adorable and perfect, and you can definitely see how he is a ladies man. This story was action-packed with a lot of interesting characters and twists. I`m looking forward to the next one.
