Short description

A second adventure with the Elements, this time from a new point of view, as a Temple apprentice prays the world relents, and lets her be a water-seer too. As the fate of the planet hangs 'oer their heads, Ezra and crew must fight to find hope. How will they do it? Well, that must be read, but they are at the end of their rope.

Extended description

Ciela de Leon never wanted attention. It's a pity no-one asked her.

Forced to begin her pilgrimage by the Temple of Life, she must become a water-seer or die trying. But when something precious is stolen from her, Ciela must fight alongside a group of terrifying mercenaries to get it back. Now everything she thought she knew about the world is thrown into doubt, and the questions just keep piling on. Who is Ezra Hawkins? What are the Children of Lightning plotting? How do waffles fit in to any of this? And if that wasn't bad enough, she may just be falling in love with a mysterious warrior who knows far too much about life and death. There's also the off chance that she's destined to save the world.

In this exciting sequel to Wind-Scarred, Ciela must fight to discover the secrets hidden just beneath the surface, or be washed away by the tides of fate. Time is running out...

Even though I'm a huge fan of the first eight seasons of Stargate SG-1, wormhole physics always left me cold. But man, Ezra Hawkins makes it FUN! Oh wow, how dense can I be? I just realized that Ezra is a descendant of Stephen Hawkins!

Anyway, I loved all the manipulating of the wormholes that Ezra pulled off and how he kept stumbling upon new ways to use them AND his new abilities. Especially liked when he was hanging with the hilarious "you really do belong in my cosca" Kirin, and Jonus (sooo picturing Stoick the Vast from How to Train Your Dragon). They were a classic combination.

Ciela is a wonderful new addition to the group. Lots of chemistry between her and Mat, that scoundrel. Everything better strucking work out well in the next book! Sure am glad I've already got it.

Oh, and even the chapter titles were fun. "All Your Base" hee hee.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Purchased after reading the first book and both were very enjoyable. Looking forward to the 3rd book.
