Short description
Russell Stonechild evades the Nazi blitzkrieg in Belgium, returning to England with additional secrets of the Enigma Machine. Members of the British War Council determine to use Russell to delay the return of Emperor Haile Selassie to the war front in Ethiopia. Haile Selassie obtains Russell’s reassignment. Flying boats deliver Russell to British controlled Khartoum in the Sudan.
When Russell Stonechild escapes the Nazi blitzkrieg he wishes only to rejoin his regiment and prepare for the next battle. Instead, he is reassigned to the service of the exiled emperor, Haile Selassie of Ethiopia. A series of flying boats transport Russell to Khartoum in the British controlled Sudan. His lonely mission, to deliver a letter from Selassie to Ras Hailu, an Italian controlled puppet ruler in Addis Ababa, also a descendant of Solomon and Sheba similar to Selassie.
