Lola Catrell is a young woman who journeys to the Gulgong Goldfields in 1871 to act as tutor for 8 year old Prue. The booming goldfields township is vividly brought to life as Lola befriends Dylan, a Welsh miner and a larrikin Irishman. She battles the ruthless stepfather, a scheming paedophile and corruption that is rife within the town. Her journey begins in Sydney, her life begins in Gulgong.

About Garry Boyd

Garry Boyd was born in Sydney in 1945 and attended high school at Fort Street Boys. He represented the school at cricket and tennis.

After marrying in 1971, the family moved to Gulgong in Central West New South Wales and he became involved in the coal industry, which lasted twenty-three years. In 1996 he graduated with a Bachelor of Business degree from Charles Sturt University.

A sea change called and in 2001 he moved to Tea Garden where he is actively involved in community work.
