Short description

Jacob knew he should not get involved. The oath he had sworn as a teacher was clear. He was to serve faithfully and without question. It was the only way to keep the peace. But the war that he believed ended thousands of years ago still rages. Now the centaurs have forced him to do the unthinkable. Jacob must choose sides. But his choice could result in the utter destruction of the human race!

Extended description

Generous Benefactors or Ruthless Tyrants?

The centaurs are real. The centaurs are here and they have come for you!

They have ruled humanity for thousands of years. The centaurs brought peace and prosperity, but also death and destruction.

Jacob Walden, a teacher, must overcome prejudice and suspicion while tutoring the children of a powerful centaur lord. Worse yet, he learns a dark secret that could plunge humans and centaurs into war yet again. A war that would result in the utter destruction of civilization.

Can Jacob protect humanity from the wrath of the centaurs? Can he teach peace to a race of warriors, or is the human race doomed to extinction?

I enjoyed this book. I found the characters to be well developed and believable. The plot was good and had sufficient depth and hidden history to keep me reading.

This appears to be the first book of a series, and I'm looking forward to next installment.
