Short description

Burlington, New Jersey 1734 Something evil has settled here. It lurks in the woods, cloaked by dark magic. Animals have been found slaughtered and men patrol the forest nightly to hunt this unknown malice. They will not find the creature, nor will they be able to kill it. It is not interested in them. It is after me. I am a witch and the creature is the servant of a witch hunter. I am their prey.

Extended description

“I have many secrets, but the one I must hide at all costs is the one that keeps threatening to surface. I turned from the woman’s screams as the flames licked at her feet. I started to run, but I was stopped by a booming voice, “Witch!” the man roared as he pointed at . . . ME? I was terror-struck, completely powerless against the witch hunter.”

The witch hunter’s eyes locked onto mine and time suspended. In that moment, my life was forever changed. As an evil force overtook me, I was carried away, protected by a mysterious stranger who disappeared as quickly as he arrived. Now, the witch hunter haunts my every step, and my protector appears in my every dream. I am undeniably in love, but mother is suspicious. Rumors have spread through town. Something evil has settled here. It lurks in the woods, cloaked by dark magic. Animals have been found mutilated, and men patrol the forest to hunt this unknown malice. I love twitter for many reasons. One being occasionally there are amazing tweets out there that let you know about an awesome author who is offering up their book free for a period of time.

First thoughts when I finished the book was GAHHHHHHH I Hate books!! :) Really I hate cliffhangers, man was this a good one!

Aislin (pronounced (Ash Leeng) in Ireland, but in the Colonies her family and friends pronounce her name as (Aze-lyn), (the "aze" rhyming with maze)) is a fantastic main character.

I so enjoyed this story so much I don't even know how to review it. When thing I greatly liked that all vampire books and shows are missing is periods! Yup I said it... girls have monthly periods and it's always a vampire guy failing in love with a girl. And this is the first book that has even brooched that subject.

Oh and I simply love her cat and it's reference to Faeries! Happy Reading!

I heard about this book on a book blog, which I'm glad I checked out. By the synopsis, it drew me in and so I had to read more. I liked the main character and the whole story plot, but I just wished there was more. However, it is an e-book, so can't complain. I am looking forward to reading the next book!

I picked up this book as a summer read after I read the free portion. I figured it would last awhile being it was very long for an ebook. I didn't realize that I would fly through this in a week. I loved the characters, the story, the realistic feel, and the twists throughout the book. I can't wait until the next book comes out to see what happens.
