About Tina Scott

Tina Peterson Scott was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. Since her parents didn’t believe in television, she had plenty of time to climb trees, read and listen to pioneer stories, tales of Hans Christian Andersen, and the Brothers Grimm.
Her family enjoyed camping, picnics, going to the river or lake, and outings to search for Apache tears (smoky quartz) in the desert, and for Arizona diamonds (crystal quartz) in the area near Pine, Arizona.
Tina and her husband have seven children and a growing number of grandchildren. Other than large family get-togethers involving lots of food and fun, she enjoys writing, watercolor painting, long walks, ice cream, and traveling to Europe—especially to her father’s ancestral home of Denmark.
After her youngest child started school, so did Tina. Graduating from Chandler Gilbert Community College with highest honors, Tina realized that dreams turn into goals and aspirations when we work hard and don’t give up.
Life is an Adventure, and Tina enjoys reading complex stories where adventure is one of the elements. She enjoys writing stories about ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances. She has also written children’s picture books, a variety of non-fiction stories, and magazine articles.

Tina Scott shared with me a few of her experiences visiting Denmark during a writers retreat and writers conference that we attended together, so when I heard that she had published a travel guide, I was eager to read “the full story.” Her book did not disappoint. Reading Surviving Denmark on a bag of peach rings brought back memories and comparisons with a trip to Italy I took with my sister, and I can testify that the travel tips Tina threads throughout her book will be highly helpful to anyone contemplating not only a trip to Denmark, but to any of the countries of Europe. I’ve already highlighted many places in Denmark that I am eager to visit for myself someday…some Viking museums, some Danish castles, and of course, the Hans Christian Andersen Museum, to name only a few! Whether you are an armchair traveler or lucky enough to be planning a trip of your own to Denmark, Surviving Denmark on a bag of peach rings will be well worth your time to study and enjoy!

I compared this book to the guide we used when planning our trip to the Netherlands a few years past. Even though we had cousins there to help guide us around we wanted to make knowledgeable choices and keep within our budget, while using our short amount of time to get the maximum amount of visiting and site seeing done. Tina has laid out a very practical and economical travel book with helpful hints for anyone visiting the European continent - things that aren't found in the usual travel guides. I hope to someday be able to travel to the land of my father's heritage and enjoy Denmark like Tina Scott did, and I will use her book to assist me with making those critical decisions that can make or break your vacation.
