A nicely fleshed-out read that cuts to the heart of teenage curiosity. When it comes down to it, we were all Zach's age, have all done a lot of dumb things, and have (at some time or other) felt bad about it. Here Bellakentucky really banks on that with a premise that is truly devilish. A bit murky in a few places, as Bryce's 'recruitment' of others, while implied, doesn't go very far. Also in the epilogue, I felt a little cheated that a whole other character seems to be introduced with the promise of more story, yet abruptly ends. Still, that could have been the author's intention: to keep us clamouring for more. All in all, a solid read!

This was a fantastic read, and after having seen the draft I love how you've since fleshed it out immensely. I really liked how the main character is honest and we can see right into his thoughts. The backstory for him was interesting too, and I loved how you wrote the fight scene. That scene was so vivid and hooking, and around then the reader starts to wonder just what the deal is with Bryce. The twist at the end was scary and yet made for a strong story moral. I loved the line about how he'd never prayed. Also, the writing was well done and it flowed awesomely. Of all the things I enjoyed from it I definitely loved your writing style. I can't wait to see more from you.

An easy read full of suspense all the way to the end. I think we all have often wondered what we would do if we met something evil and perverse, would we really be brave, would we stay to fight or run? Would we have gumption? The coward or the hero in the face of real and true danger.

Definitely a good read. The story hooked my attention from start to finish and I'm quite satisfied with the way things ended when they did, making the morale in the story more significant. Anyone who enjoys reading thrilling supernatural stories will surely enjoy this.
