This book is a clever adaptation of the classic Fairy-Tale, Jack and the Beanstalk, taking it from the realms of fairytale to Science Fiction.

It is a brilliant idea, and on the whole, very, very well executed. However, there were a few parts where the author seemed to be listing a set of bullet points rather than letting the reader's imagination do the work. There were also a few typos and grammatical errors. However, there were only a few of these.

I think this story would be loved by imaginative children and it was really inspiring to see how the traditional story was mapped onto a sci-fi world by this author! I especially loved the idea of the Giant being able to smell the emeralds - that definitely triggered my imagination!
