About Gayle Mullen Pace

I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t writing, even if it was only spinning stories in my head while cooking dinner or rocking babies at two o’clock in the morning. The stories have always been there. Maybe it was because we did more on our vacations than find a place to relax. We went to historic places, not just on vacations, but on day trips, as well, when the weather was nice enough for a picnic. Old cemeteries, grist mills, river ferries and Civil War battlefields—we visited as many places as we could.

My love for reading must be genetic. My parents loved to read and so do their children. When we grew up and left home, my father converted one of the bedrooms into a library. It seemed natural to take the stories in my head and begin writing them down. I wrote short stories all through school and continued after my marriage.

Life is passionate—good, bad, humorous—and the books I love most are brimming with all the passions that make people human. Realistic characters who strive to overcome their deepest fears and who live and love with every fiber of their being are the heart and soul of a good story. I wish you all of the best of life’s passion and many hours of happy reading!

UPDATE: All of the current books (Heart of a Rose series books 1, 2 and 3; and Forsaken) have been professionally edited. I'm wrapping up "Pictures for Maddie" for its release in April 2014. After that I'm back to writing Book 2 of the De Montbrai Saga. More information on my blog (link below).

I finished reading the second book this afternoon after purchasing it Friday night along with the first book. I had a difficult time tearing myself away from it, I think at one point I checked the clock and it was 4am and realized I should probably get some sleep!

A Rose in Summer is the perfect completion to A Rose Beneath the Snow. You truly have a gift for writing stories that draw the reader in making them feel as though they are experiencing the same trials and hardships. I highly recommend this book (well both books actually) and I look forward to reading more from you!

I have just finished reading the second book, and I also could not put the book down, read it within 3 days of downloading it. The book kept me on the edge of my seat with all of the twists and turns. The book is very well written with a great story line. I thoroughly enjoyed the people within each storyline, but I have to admit the Shadow was my favorite one of all. He was always beside her whatever trouble Miranda was in, whether it was a sad or happy time. He was her protector and good friend. I usually read this type of book and was really excited to have this one to read after reading and enjoying the first one. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a very good and interesting read. I would give the book 10 stars if it was possible, but I am only able to give it 5, which I will do. To all who read the reviews, please take a moment to download this book along with the first one,you will not be disappointed.

A Rose in Summer is the completion to a beautiful timeless story that kept me engaged to the very end. Miranda was a woman of elegance and great character when faced with many obstacles throughout her life. I was emotionally drawn to the entire series and normally I read science fiction, Green mythology, and “the classics”. As it was well stated in a previous review, “It takes a special kind of author to engage me to the point of tears and laughter while reading a book and you have such a talent for writing I was unable to put them down…” Thank you for providing such a well written story, I look forward to the next one!

I laughed and cried through both of these books (the first on being "A Rose Beneath the Snow). I am actually going to read them again! I love the story and charactors so much I felt like I went through their trials and tribulations with them both phyically and mentally. It takes a special kind of author to engage myself to the point of tears and laughter while reading a book and you have such a talent for writing I was unable to put the books down. Thank you so much for sharing your talent and I am anxiously awating your next book!!!! Keep writing please!!!
