I read the sample online of this book, after reading about it on the Britannia website. I had to purchase the whole book online. WOW !!!!! This could BE MY LIFE story. My mother came to town after she married my father in 1943 with a young son, *my oldest brother Tom* She was raised in Vancouver all her life. And then spent the rest of it at Mount Sheer firstly, then to Minaty Bay .My father worked the crane that loaded the copper pyrite onto the conveyor belt that filled the barges at the dock. Sadly my dad passed away in 1960 at the young age of 56, As my mother owned the house, the rules were that she had to work for the company so she became the Postmistress for some time after my fathers death. Sadly she passed away at the young age of 59 in 1980. THIS IS MY LIFE STORY tho in sooo many ways. Lots of same things I did also.

although written about a period before I lived in the area, the author made me feel a part of the story. Very well done and a must read for anyone who remembers Mount Sheer, Britannia Beach or Minaty Bay, B.C.
