About Cynthia Gillard

Cynthia Gillard is a 1976 graduate of Kalamazoo College and a 1982 graduate of Notre Dame Law School. She has practiced business law in Indiana and Michigan for the past 30 years. When Vaudeville Came to Joplin is the first in a series of books that is based upon a century old scrapbook from Vaudeville performers in Gillard's family. It is a historical novel that takes place in Joplin Missouri during the early 20th century. Gillard brings a great deal of personal knowledge and history to the story. Like her relatives before her, Gillard began performing on stage at a very young age under the name Cynthia Schaefer. Her last play performance was during college.
