Dick is introduced happily living the life of a Marine Biologist, a professional student, and when it suits him, he is a SCUBA instructor. He is wealthy. He's never worked a day in his life.

Betty Lourdes is a control freak and a Corrections Psychologist. She likes the 'Criminal Element'. She is also a wealthy heiress who has recently become aware of the 'tradition' that a man must spend two months of his wages for an Engagement Ring and so she engineers a plan that forces her unenthusiastic boyfriend, Dick, to get a job for two months to earn the money to buy an Engagement Ring. Dick reluctantly becomes engaged to become Engaged and enters the 'real' world to find a job for two months to pay for an Engagement Ring.

The day Dick stepped away from his academic life as a Marine Biologist and entered the 'real' world, his protected life became a memory. There could be no turning back. He would learn that soon enough. Armed with his naiveté, honesty and integrity; he made friends, friendly enemies, and unbeknownst to himself, he found true love.

Dick is not surprised to learn that 'Osmosis Water', a bottled water company, is owned under the Lourdes Family corporate umbrella and that Betty just happens to be the controlling shareholder.

Upon entering the corporate world of Osmosis Water, and under the tutelage of CEO Mickey Montana, Dick meets Jane Ferrada; a Water Activist deathly afraid of water; and soon finds his life situation takes on a life of it's own.

Jane meets Richard and it's love at first sight. Dick is also in love with Jane, but he does not yet recognize it.

Jane is very beautiful. A highly intelligent, highly driven Latina woman [with a turbulant relationship with her Father]. She works as an Exotic Automobile Broker, manages a Pub League, Slow Pitch Softball team and is also a serious Environmental Activist. Her 'cause' is Water; and ironically, Water is the one element she fears most in life.

Jane's activism compliments Dick's academic expertise. Her temper is balanced by Dick's calm nature. Jane may be the best or worst thing that has ever happened to him. Jane's desire for Dick is greater than her unreasonable fear of water; but through events surrepticiouly orchestrated by Mickey, Dick believes he has taken on the very difficult task of helping Jane overcome her fear of water by teaching her to SCUBA Dive.

Richard becomes emotionally torn between his commitment to Betty and his unexpected deep feelings for Jane. There are a million reasons why Richard should take one last look at Jane and run in horror in the other direction but Jane is a 'Wild Card'. Her unique, attractive and explosive personality matches Betty's blow for blow.

Mickey wants Betty. Jane wants Dick and the battle for love between Jane and Betty and Mickey takes place on the baseball field and it's unclear who wins the day.

Ultimately Dick's two months tenure at Osmosis Water comes to an end and the money for the engagement ring is earned. Just as he resigns himself to his engagement plans to Betty, he ends up in Jail after attending Jane's nude protest against the Water Giants.

With not so unexpected help from Betty and completely unexpected help from Betty's Mother, Mickey wins the day in the proxy war against Betty's Father for Osmosis Water Corp.

Dick and Jane end up together in Jail because of Jane's dispassionate voice for Water as a Human Right at her nude protest against the Water Giants; that ultimately turned into a full blown riot.

The Wedding day finally arrives, ...
