About Miles Cole

Having come from an extremely humble background Miles grew up fast and furious during a time of social turmoil. Miles was raised by parents who were survivors of the Great Depression. He witnessed civil unrest and was the target of a racial riot during the 1960’s, he searched for himself in the 1970’s and faced extreme traumas in the 1980’s, experienced triumphs and a break down in the 1990’s. In the 2000 he was betrayed by those close to him and in the 2010’s he now reflects on his life and finds that sharing his story to be therapeutic.

He’s been everything from a stall boy to a regional manager of a very popular retail outlet and has owned his own business. He has no formal education outside of life. He says that life was his teacher and song writers were his philosophers. Having lived in 7 states by the time he was 17 He now calls Ohio home. He is by his own definition, A Simple Man

I also became a fan of Miles' on MySpace. I could always count on Miles to present raw honesty in his blogs. His transparency is refreshing in a cyberworld where there are more catfish than real people. His moral and political views so perfectly line up with mine, but he says it so much better. I certainly do not agree with Miles' 9th grade English teacher. Shame on her for not recognizing that his writing style packs such a punch.

I highly recommend this book and look forward to any future books penned by this author.

I have been a fan of Miles' since the days of MySpace. I couldn't wait to read his next blog post. Now I have the collection of some of his favorites, and I loved reading them over again. Everything he writes is packed with such emotion and power. I highly recommend this one!

This body of work impacted me deeply. It is the rare sort of writing that gives you chills, and reminds you of the dark recesses that we often avoid. It tells truth without apology or consideration, making it like a punch in the face that you are somehow grateful for. It is this sort of writing that first inspired me to take up the quill myself, and it is where I find the most value. There is compassion within, and a certain courage of thought, even when it is tentative. I have a deep admiration for this Author’s work, and perhaps many of his weaknesses are, in fact, his strengths. There is no lack of strength in his character or his writing. Those who read him may find that strength imparted to them. I certainly did.

I don’t read many books online, but I saw people talking about this one on facebook and thought I would give it a try. I didn’t follow it at first because it starts with poems, but when I got to the short stories, it all came together. This man has lived a very tough life. I used to think that empathy couldn’t be taught. This book changed my mind. I felt the authors pain and emotion in every single word.

"Simple Man" a misnomer for Miles Cole. I think "Every Man" would suite him better as his writings which cover a wide range really reflect the complex and sometimes contradictory nature of all people every where.

If you only read one e-book this week, this should be the one
