It is natural to grow up having aspirations and dreams about the future. Some of these dreams and desires keep on changing with time as we mature in life’s pursuits of our goals. There are many occasions when these youthful dreams are not attained at all owing to unforeseen circumstances. In the natural destiny of man’s aspirations, we go through the motion of birth, growth, schooling to obtain qualification, work for pay, obtain fame, grow old and eventually die in fulfillment or in frustration. There is a divine destiny where we place our lives in the hands of our God, creator of man and the universe who turns our destiny into his purpose so that we become useful to him and to man.
Perhaps in your pursuit in life, your dreams failed along the way but that should not make you throw your hands into the air in desperation. Success in life is not necessarily measured at the end of life but can be ascertained at every stage by what you do with the opportunities which come your way. .. In many instances, unfulfilled dreams have been circumvented and paths redirected to find fulfillment in the improvement of the lives of others. Hellen Keller did not allow her debilitating sickness and blindness from achieving excellence in being a trail blazer for the blind to be able to read neither did Joseph allow his seemingly shattered dream of being a great man in future frustrate him while a slave in Potiphar’s house in Egypt or as a prisoner. Tenacity of purpose and resilience under trying conditions and faith in God who was with him spurred him on to save not only the same family that sold him into slavery, but preserved the whole world from a devastating famine as he turned out to be the Prime minister of Egypt, the then most powerful nation in the world.
Evita was also a dreamer, looking for the best in life and was naturally endowed by nature with eloquence and beauty par excellence. Her choices in life were nothing to emulate as these led her down the spiral lane into oblivion. However, surrounded by her own children, they helped her to find true joy and happiness in raising them up. The best of her innate character of love, patience and humility made her find satisfaction and fulfillment in helping others attain their God-given purpose in life. Her grandchildren took up the mantle of the exemplary life she led; putting the light on the hilltop to shine so brightly and led others in their subsequent generations to the true fulfillment of their own dreams.
