Rowan of the Wood is an exciting adventure that incorporates all the magical elements that capture the imagination: ancient druidic wizards and witches, vampires, legend coming to life in modern times, good versus evil. The story is chock full of action and drama, a fun read for young magical realism fans.

I found this book through a free preview on stanza on my iPhone; originally intending for a little something for light reading and was immediately captivated by the story of this fragile little boy. A story of a child in a world he isn't grown enough to be able to understand placed in a situation where maybe that very inability is the very strength that can save him and the world. I couldn't set this book down for a second after setting eyes on the first page and cried out in frustration when the preview ended and immediatly purchased it and read all the way through. A truly irresistible read I loved it from beginning to end and wait ever so impatiently for the next installment in the series.
