I'm not sure what to say, other than to echo the previous review. This is excellent. The writing is smooth and polished with a poet's precesion to it. The places, people and dialogue feel so natural that it's incredibly to think this was not actually written by someone from Nigeria.
Books dealing with migration tend to focus on what happens when immigrants arrive in their new countries so this is an origibal and compelling look at the perils illegal immigrants face along the way, what kind of people take these risks and why they take them.
A fantastic read and highly recommended.

‘Sirocco Express’ by Tony Judge is a gritty and compelling story. It's a deeply emotional and moving tale of hope and hopelessness that will evoke compassion and sympathy through its main character Adebayo, a young Nigerian boy.
Mr Judge manages to describe, with compelling realism, Adebayo’s danger-filled adventures as he travels from Nigeria to Europe with the expectation of finding a better life for himself. This book, with its excellent characterization, a perfectly paced plot and the ultimately uplifting and very clever twist to its ending, all help to create a book that is effortlessly easy to read.
Highly recommended reading.
