Matt lead me into another room, really a smaller section of the gallery, but it was empty and quiet right now. We sat down together on a bench. He sat close to me, so that the edges of our thighs pressed together.
God, he really was hot, and he was being so flirty. Maybe this was going to be a better night than I’d expected.
“So, you come here often?” he asked, tone light and teasing.
“Not really,” I said. “My friend’s more the art person, to be honest. I’d rather work with food. It’s something that just… clicks with me, you know?”
He nodded, turning his head to gaze into my eyes. “Your food was certainly delicious back there. You look delicious too,” he added softly. I felt my cheeks go warm. “May I have a taste, Phoebe?”
He leaned in to kiss me, long and slow and sweet. I steadied myself on his shoulders, enjoying the slick, tingling glide of his tongue against mine. There was no one else here, for all that the party was going on only a couple large rooms away, so I saw no reason to be shy.
I sighed as he broke the kiss. My hands were still pressed lightly to his shoulders, palms down, fingers curled gently into the fabric of his suit.
“Given the choice between you and your cooking, I have to say I prefer you.”
I laughed quietly, tilting my head to press my soft lips to to line of his jaw. “Mmm… I’d have to say the same about you.”
He leaned his head into the movement, but laughed. “You haven’t even tried my cooking, Phoebe.”
