This is the very first time that I have read something by Moira Rogers. I picked up this book from smashwords.com for free and downloaded it to my kindle. Boy am I glad that I did. The author hooks the reader at the very beginning of the book and doesn't let go. I let out a big sigh when I came up to the last page of Jack and Ginny's story. I wanted it to continue, I liked it that much.

The only reason why I gave it four stars instead of five is because there wasn't, in my opinion, more information about the post-apocalyptic society that the book was set in. Unless it is in another novel, but like I said above, this is my first book by this author.

The two main characters, Ginny and alpha Jack, are strong. Ginny is a single woman rancher doing things on her own in this new world. Jack is the alpha of the local pack. As you read into the book you get the feeling that Ginny is very good at surviving on her own and I got the feeling that she can survive without Jack but emotionally wouldn't be the same person as she would be with him.

Now Jack, I loved this alpha male. He isn't as pushy or prone to one syllable words as other alpha males/werewolf characters that I have read about in the past. Jack truly loves Ginny, she is his MATE. But he wasn't going to push her. She was going to have to realize that she wanted and needed him just as much as he wanted and needed her.The author does a wonderful job projecting the two character's chemistry.

I also liked how she included the two characters for the next book in the series. You get a little back ground about their personalities and it makes you more connected to the story. So, as a result, I have the other two books in my wish list.

So to sum up, this is a wonderful story, with hot sex scenes and good character depth to not allow you to set the book down. I look forward to reading more of the author's work.
