About Jacob Cooney

Jacob Cooney is a writer/director/producer who has produced projects ranging from features, television, music videos, commercials and new media content. Most recently he directed the feature film ALPHA HOUSE for Broken Films, a series of commercials for Australian based company Bogi Australia and have an ongoing relationship shooting commercials, promos and ad campaigns for Los Angeles based tech company AVAD LLC. He also recently wrote, directed and produced the short film ROCCO - starring Muppeteer Nathan Danforth and his puppet creation Grumpus Q. Wilterspoon - and the web series BEDLAM for Gossypium Media.

Previously he directed the feature film FIERCE FRIEND - which is currently available on DVD and VOD - as well as the short film THE FROLIC - which screened at the Cannes Film Festival and was distributed by Ouat Media in Canada. Along with “Fierce Friend" and "The Frolic", he also directed the television comedy pilot REHAB FOR REJECTS and have also done numerous music videos and commercials that have premiered on Fuse TV and other outlets.

As a writer, he recently wrote the television pilot THE LAKES for Lionsgate Television, as well as the feature films WANT for State Street Pictures, ILLUMINATING PRESTON for Telefilm Canada, THE BELL WITCH HAUNTING for The Asylum, OBSIDIAN and WORLD’S END for the SyFy Channel, A MONSTER MOVIE for Rhizome Intermedia and ALPHA HOUSE for Broken Films. Currently I am in development on a number of other projects for companies such as Armory Films, Sunrise Pictures, ABC Family, Hallmark, Google, The Asylum and Lifetime.
