Short description

This ten day elimination plan is for those who have been prescribed to start a FODMAPs free diet. It's also for those who are health conscious, vegetarian, and/or vegan or looking to incorporate more plant based meals into their diet. At first diagnosis, I struggled with the overwhelming nature of FODMAPs so my hope is to ease the process for others with a straight forward plan and recipes.

Extended description

FODMAPs stands for Fermentable Oligo-, Di- and Mono-saccharides And Polyols. They are known to cause GI discomfort in susceptible individuals and more and more research has been proving that a low FODMAP diet has widespread application for managing functional GI disorders such as IBS and IBD.

Unfortunately, FODMAPs are present in many plant based foods which means there are limited options for vegans and vegetarians who want to follow this plan.

I wasn't about to sacrifice my health or my food preferences, so I set to work creating delicious meals that were both veg based and FODMAPs friendly.

I have personally made and eaten all these meals according to the most recent FODMAPs research information, so for anyone who has been prescribed an elimination diet or no/low FODMAPs diet by a registered dietician and don’t know where to begin, let this be your guide. Please note, however, I am not a doctor and this is not meant to replace medical advice.

Happy Healthy Eating!

My diet had gotten so limited by IBS that I was a complete mess. I started doing research and found the low FODMAPs diet and subsequently Elise's blog. I am still in the elimination phase so I cannot speak to the diet but: Elise's blog and cookbook have motivated and inspired me to broaden my eating habits. While I am not a vegan I am enjoying tons of new produce and other delicious healthy foods and I owe alot of that to this book. It is a great starting place and very easy to adapt (like I can make a recipe and then have my choice of protein on the side). I really like that the food is nothing hard to find or never heard of. And it all works for a busy young wife and mother :o) Keep up the great work Elise!

I don't have any kind of digestive problem, I just wanted to see how I would feel on a low FODMAPs diet.
Elise's recipes are delicious and I will be using some of them again even now that my trail diet is over.
If I had one complaint, it would be the way that the PDF is structured. Logically, if you were following the diet from Day One of the food plan it would make sense for the first recipe in the book to be Day One, Breakfast and so on. Insted the recipe order was all over the place and to find a recipe there was no reference system, just lots of flicking through the pages. Also, for the dressings and sauces on the last page there were no instructions on how to cook them. I assumed chuck all ingredients and blender and try your luck, but you never really know!
One final thing, the cover here looks like its full of beautiful pictures (like Elise's blog) but there are no picture inside at all (at least in the PDF version)

This book is just perfect and has wonderful recipes that inspire me and which I am still using regularly after I purchased it three weeks ago. Every recipe I have tried so far was very delicious. Just yesterday I made the Solo Desser Bake. Just Great!
