Short description

When 24-year old Allison Banks inadvertently captures the attention of a rising superstar, she must decide if there's room in her life for the extra excitement.

Extended description

After losing her mother in a tragic accident, Allison Banks takes on the sole responsibility of caring for her little sister, her young niece, and her disabled grandmother. When her long-term boyfriend walks out, offering little in the way of explanation, Allison is left totally confused and utterly heartbroken. To cope, the 24-year-old closes herself off to any serious relationships and dives into her work as a graduate student.

Needing the extra income, Allison takes a job for the hot, new, reality TV show, Superstardom. Captivated by the competition’s front-runner, the mysterious and sexy singer, Chris Knots, Allison dismisses her attraction as nothing more than a silly, school-girl crush. But, when the hunky performer reveals an interest of his own, Allison must work through her reservations and decide if there’s room in her life for something more.

3.5 out of 5 stars, this is a thought provoking take on the reality singing show world that kept my attention wrapped while having me rooting for Allie and Chris the whole way!! I am surprised to say that since Allie mostly annoyed me throughout this novel, because of how she doesn't commit until the last minute. However, I understood that all problems with committing to Chris (or anyone for that matter) because of how badly burned she was and afraid of heartache she is again. As I pushed on, I could feel myself growing to love her close-knit group of friends and family! It turns into a very sweet moving romance story that I could not put down. And I'm sooo happy about whom Jake ends up with since I was hoping that from the beginning!!

All in all, I recommend this novel to anyone who likes contemporary romances, especially ones where the main male character in a hot singer!!

Nice Romance, Adult Fiction. Theme taken from the headlines of the music industry. Loved the teacher even if she was a bit unconventional. Nice Read

I enjoyed Face the Music very much. The characters and their reactions to situations felt real, and the story flowed well.

I hope to read more from Andrea K. Robbins in the future. I liked the writing style.

I just started reading Face the Music yesterday and I have to say I am loving it! The premise is engaging and very modern, considering television musical reality shows such as the Voice, American Idol, etc. Allison is a bright young woman working hard to take charge of her chaotic life and takes on extra work as a tutor for the contestants of Superstardom. She begins to have feelings for one of the contestants, Chris, and it is anything but a simple crush. I can't put it down and I can't wait to see what happens next! This is a fun book full of romance and suspense, involving a very interesting love triangle!

I really enjoyed this book! I'm not usually into love stories, but I read this story and got lost in it.
Every once in a while I had to remind myself I was reading! I loved the way the author described the characters. I could see them in my mind! I also enjoyed (surprisingly) the "new" story using new music, technology and characters. This was a very good book for the 20 something crowd and for romance readers!

I really enjoyed this book and what was crazy is that it was free??? I read it in less than 24 hours it was that thought provoking. The work speaks for itself. It's a refreshing love story of self-discovery. Grad student Allie has a lot to deal with. She is one of three family members that she has left. She's lost her mother to tragedy and her grandmother to old age. All that's left is her baby sister and her daughter.

She's struggling to go to grad school and survive when she takes a job as teacher to 18 and under kids on a pop television show called "Superstars." It's American Idol with an awesome twist. In comes Chris one of the shows top contenders. He's 27, gorgeous, and sex on legs!! Think Chris Daughtry here, but even hotter. He comes into her life and sweeps her away. She has to decide if she's ready to deal with his celebrity, all while at the same time, battling being hurt from a previous relationship.

Allie is one strong chick and I felt myself constantly cheering for her. She doesn't let people push her down and treads on through her struggles. If your looking for a strong heroine, excellent writing, and a heart warming celebrity love story this is it here.

It's a great "new adult" read and those in their twenties will definitely relate to this title!
