About Henry Givens

I was a pastor and a worship leader for ages. When I tried to slow down a bit, I got involved with Savannah Christian Church's Drama team. The idea of telling the story of Jesus Christ through drama and stories began to pull at me. I slowly started writing and began to enjoy it more and more. It's a very rewarding challenge.

I just got through reading Tom's Treasure and I got more out of it than just a good story. The story revolves around Tom Dandridge who enlisted in the Army in WWII. Through a mishap of war, he received multiple injuries and was left with amnesia. Without going into a lot of detail, when his memory returns, Tom makes a decision that brings heartache to him but leaves others with their happiness. He continues serving God with all of his heart.
After 50 years he is prompted to go back to his home town. Just when he thinks he can't find any of his kin, he stumbles across this eleven year old kid named Arthur teaching football players some Ninja moves. He makes friends with him not knowing it is his great-grandson. The author keeps you hanging on for ten chapters before he brings the two to realize they are related.
Tom bore the hurt of his decision for fifty years before the Lord brought him into a time of healing. And when the Lord started healing he made up for all the hurt he had been through. Being a member of the service that was involved in war myself, I was wounded more on the inside than I was on the outside. This book started a healing process in me that I am grateful for. I would heartily recommend this book to young and old alike.

All of us can learn from our past, whether we had a good life, or not so good life. There are times in our lives we go not sure of ourselves why thing happen the way they do.
Henry shows that living under God's will and giving God what is due to him then God will repay you in more ways than you can imagine. Henry is very qualified to write such a story, because he has walked God's pathway as long as I can remember.
