A national award winning author - Rainy Kirkland has written several historical romances. A graduate from Maryland University, she spent time in the Peace Corp, then taught elementary school in New Jersey. Now living in Florida Ms. Kirkland has returned to her writing career. Well done. I do agree that the book could have been fleshed out a bit more, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it. Unlike the reviewer who said they wanted more romance and less about the witch trials, I was just the opposite. I do agree the ending was a little fast, but still an enjoyable read.

Having read a lot of romances published here, it was nice to read a writer who actually has a decent command of the English language. Yes I tend to be picky about that.

My first RK book and it was an enjoyable read!

What stopped me from giving 5 stars was that I felt parts were missing in the story.

I really loved the book, it was well written, a bit slow, but i was captivated. Only the end was too fast and (maybe spoiler ) i really didn't like that she so easily forgave him at the end, but it's defenity worth it to read it
