Short description

The delightful story of a young goose who is curious of what winter is like, and of his adventures staying north rather than flying south with the flock.

Extended description

This is the story of Thomas, a curious goose with a curious name, who tries to be a dutiful member of the flock, but has an irrepressible urge to explore, and though he listens to the elder geese tell of how horrible winter is, he wonders what the fields look like all white, and wonders if winter really could be so horrible. Thomas stays north rather than flying south with the flock, and gets advice from a duck and gets a scare from hungry coyotes. At the return of the flock in the spring, Thomas is well but a bit leaner, and before rejoining the flock, asks himself what would happen if he flew south now.
