About Ryan DeRome

My logic is that I have experienced enough in this world to finally start reflecting in words what I have in my mind. Sitting at my desk at work one day I had the idea to write and self-publish a book in one year and made it a goal. And so the book known as ‘debt’ was born after 13 months of trial and error… and more trial and error. Although it was a painstaking experience it provided me with a creative outlet that I had never explored and was proud of my accomplishment. The idea for more books started and then I knew I had found a new creative love.

Being mainly a reader of biographies and poetry, creating a book seemed to flow more naturally than I had expected. Reading the works and short stories of Joan Didion was a huge influence as well as listening to The Writers Almanac on National Public Radio. Aside from writing I'm an avid record collector and enjoy many forms of art.

I'm still reading this novel, but am through the first 100 pages. I like the subject and find it interesting, but the book needs editing. Typos and run-on sentences dilute the content and are distracting to me. Definitely worth a re-write by the author, and -so far- worth the time for the reader.

I was so glad this book became available for the IPad. Once I started I could not put it down. Love the descriptive writing of the author. You are kept guessing about various things at every chapter
